Governor Awards acknowledge excellence in the quality and
safety of care in the hospital setting. As a recipient of the
award St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital is recognized for
embracing evidence-based medicine in the areas of heart
failure, heart attack, pneumonia, and surgical care. In
addition, we were recognized for our work with the Michigan
Stroke Network and the use of technology to improve care and
outcomes to our stroke patients.
St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital in Howell serves the health care needs of Livingston County residents. Services include an award-winning 24-hour emergency department, family birth center, inpatient and outpatient surgery, including joint replacement, a variety of diagnostic and outpatient services and over 300 physicians serving patients. Recently we have become a teaching hospital, as the site for the newly accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.
St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital is licensed for 136 beds and is Livingston County’s only full-service hospital. We offer the latest technology, with a highly skilled and compassionate medical staff.
Since the early 1990’s St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital has gone through extensive renovations and expansions to meet the needs of the area's growing population. Our Emergency Department has an emergency observation unit that provides specialized care and monitoring for patients experiencing cardiac or respiratory symptoms. We also have a wireless bedside registration technology and a Hazardous Materials tent on site.

As part of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, patients have the benefit of quick access to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor and St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital when needed.
