you achieve your weight loss goals and healthy eating habits, to lower your risk
of chronic diseases. The St. Joseph Mercy NutriCare staff consists of
registered dietitians with expertise in weight management, cardiovascular
disease, gastrointestinal disorders, emotional eating problems, childhood and
adolescent nutrition and complementary nutrition therapies.
The NutriCare Healthy Eating, Weight and Cholesterol Management Program is designed for adults who want to learn how to eat more nutritious meals, cook new foods and adopt a healthier attitude towards food. The program offers:
- Interactive and entertaining nutrition and behavior
classes featuring cooking demonstrations and food tasting
- Hands-on cooking classes
- Individual nutrition counseling
The hands-on cooking classes are a great way to have fun learning new recipes,
as well as learning some new culinary skills. Everyone in class helps prepare
a different recipe, and then everyone shares a delicious meal. These classes
will convince you that "good-for-you" food tastes good and is easy
to prepare. These programs are offered on the second floor of the Ellen Thompson
Women's Health Center on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Call 734-712-5800
