The academic faculty for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital is as follows:
| Jonathan Ayers, MD - A partner of IVF Michigan,
Dr. Ayers has been the recipient of numerous grants dedicated to research
in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. He is a graduate
of the University of Michigan Medical School and also completed his residency
in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan. Following that,
he completed a fellowship in the university's Division of Reproductive Endocrinology.
Dr. Ayers is a Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology, University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In addition, Dr. Ayers has published over 35 journal articles, and over
30 scientific abstracts. He has contributed to two books, and a variety
of audiovisual educational materials. |

| Wesley Beemer, MD - Dr. Wesley Beemer grew
up in southwestern Michigan and attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate
degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in
1983 where he completed his internship and residency training. Dr. Beemer
joined Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1987. He is currently
Director of Gynecology for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and is Board Certified
in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In his spare time, Dr. Beemer and his wife,
Tammie enjoy outdoor sports including skiing, climbing and kayaking. |

| David Bryant, MD - Dr. David Bryant is a Maternal-Fetal
Medicine specialist who has recently gone into private practice after being
an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the
past two years. He recently went into private practice and will also continue
his involvement with the department. After graduating from the Northeastern
Ohio Universities College of Medicine, he did his residency training in
Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan
and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wayne State University/Hutzel
Hospital in Detroit. He has previously been on the faculty of the Medical
College of Ohio in Toledo as well as a senior staff physician at the Henry
Ford Hospital in Detroit. His main clinical interest centers on the care
of women with complicated pregnancies. His main interests include his family
(married with two daughters), church, and long-distance running. |

| Lisa Jeffries, MD - Dr. Lisa Jeffries graduated
from Hillsdale College in 1994. She attended Michigan State University College
of Human Medicine, and completed Obstetrics and Gynecology residency in
Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2002. She then practiced at a public health clinic
in Boulder, Colorado from 2002-2004. There she provided care for a primarily
Spanish speaking population as well as working closely with certified nurse
midwives. She and her husband then relocated to Ann Arbor where they are
both employed at St. Joe's. Dr. Jeffries now enjoys working with students
and residents in the AOGP clinic. She enjoys spending her free time with
her young son and husband. |

| Carolyn M. Johnston, MD - Dr. Johnston is
a graduate of Yale School of Medicine who went on to do her residency at
the University of Chicago Hospital. She then pursued a fellowship in Gynecological
Oncology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Johnston
is Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at the University of Michigan in addition to being a Cancer Center Member.
Her clinical interests include pre-invasive disease of the lower genital
tract, complex gynecology, gynecologic oncology, and cervical cancer. She
is also a board member of the Michigan Cancer Consortium and chair of its
cervical cancer committee. In addition to having an interest in research
she shares her time teaching residents and medical students at the University
of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. |

| Charles Leland, MD - Charles Leland, MD specializes
in obstetrics and gynecology and has been in practice since 1982. His medical
interests include management of abnormal pap smears, pelvic relaxation,
menopause, abnormal uterine bleeding, and the joy of delivering babies!
He is currently the Third Year Clerkship Site Director for the Department
of Obstetric and Gynecology at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and enjoys teaching.
After graduating from Western Washington State College, Dr. Leland joined
the Peace Corps and spent three and a half years in South Korea teaching
science and working in a mission hospital on Koje Island. After the Peace
Corps, he attended Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea and was the first American
to earn a medical degree from that institution. Dr. Leland completed his
internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac and his residency at
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. |

| Sharon O'Leary, MD - In July 2005 Dr. Sharon
O'Leary was appointed as the Residency Research Director for the Obstetrics
and Gynecology Department at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Prior to her appointment
Dr. O'Leary was the Residency Program Director for eight years. She received
her B.S. degree cum laude in Physiology, and she graduated AOA from Michigan
State University Medical School. She completed her residency at William
Beaumont Hospital. Dr. O'Leary is truly a dynamic, forward thinking, outstanding
medical educator. She has distinguished herself throughout her medical career
as a teacher who has earned the respect and devotion of her students. She
is an APGO-Solvay Scholar and has dedicated herself to resident and student
education. |

| Toanh Popp, MD - Dr. Toanh Popp lives in Plymouth,
Michigan with her husband and daughter. She is a staff physician at St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital and is a partner in Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics
practice. She is an active member of the Medical Student Clerkship Advisory
Committee as the Assistant Clerkship Director for the 4th year medical student
rotation at St. Joe's. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling,
and spending time with her family. Dr. Popp grew up in Indiana and if fluent
in Vietnamese. |

| R. Kevin Reynolds, MD - Dr. Reynolds is
a graduate of the University of New Mexico. He completed his residency at
the University of Vermont and went on to do a fellowship in Gynecological
Oncology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Reynolds is currently an Associate
Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University
of Michigan in addition to holding the titles of Chief, Division of Gynecologic
Oncology, Cancer Center Member Director, Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship
Program and the George W. Morley Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
His clinical interests include caring for women with known or suspected
gynecologic malignancies or women with pre-malignant gynecologic diseases.
He is highly regarded for his expertise in laparoscopic surgery, surgical
robotics, and the newest fertility sparing methods for treatment of cervical
cancer (radical trachelectomy) in addition to many research interests. Dr.
Reynolds shares his time teaching residents and medical students at both
the University of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. |
