Rotations

MTS Rounds |
MTS - The medical teaching service is our core general medicine inpatient
service. Call is every fourth night with teams consisting of one attending,
one senior resident, two interns, and 1-2 medical students. Excellent core faculty
attendings round in two-week blocks. All key subspecialties use MTS as a hospitalist
service. This service provides a rich and diverse experience when rotating on
medicine. Schedules strictly adhere to ACGME requirements to optimize learning.
MICU - 12-bed unit with additional step-down coverage. Call is every
fourth night. Team is comprised of an intensivist, two senior residents, four
interns, and 1-2 medical students. Rounding occurs in a multidisciplinary approach,
including respiratory therapists, pharmacists and nutritionists. Procedures
are abundant without competing fellows.

MICU Rounds |
CVM is a coronary care unit with additional step-down coverage.
Call is every fourth night. Team includes a cardiologist, two senior residents,
four interns, and 1-2 medical students. High turnover rate provides extensive
exposure to cardiac disease. Our catheterization lab has high volume activity,
rivaling most surrounding hospitals.
Star/Night Float - Senior residents help with triage of new admissions.
True resident night float system where the on-call medicine resident goes home
while the interns provide continuity of care. Supervision is provided by attendings
who give instruction on proper triage techniques.
PCIM/Ambulatory - Primary Care Internal Medicine deals with outpatient/ambulatory
medicine. Residents rotate through various general practices within the community
in addition to relevant sub-specialties: ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, dermatology,
etc. Unique teaching on outpatient topics is provided on a weekly basis to supplement
the experience
