Everyone calls us St. Joe's.
We're the flagship of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System. We offer a benefit
to residents found almost nowhere else – the opportunity to participate
in the academic program of a great research university while you experience
the everyday medical challenges of working in a community hospital.
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital is a strong academic institution with a talented
faculty, advanced technological capabilities, and a wide variety of research
options. Our long-time affiliation with the University of Michigan Health System,
located only minutes away, has further enriched the training environment of
generations of residents. Both physicians and staff take great pride in St.

With 545 licensed beds and more than 4,000 employees, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital
trains 150 residents a year in internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics
and gynecology, emergency medicine and family practice.There are many benefits
from our affiliation with other hospitals in the region, as well as from membership
in the larger health care corporation, Mercy Health Services, sponsored by the
Sisters of Mercy.
