Before Your Operation

A Surgical Case Manager will be contacting you by phone two days prior to your operation. The Case Manager's role is to obtain all required testing needed for your operation, assess your current health status and answer any questions you may have regarding your operation. Your operation and arrival time will also be confirmed. Instructions will be given about what may be required of you before and after your operation. In order to provide you with the best service, we ask that you read and complete your forms before leaving the surgeon's office.

If you have not been contacted before your operation, please call us. If your operation is scheduled at:

  • St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital, please call 517-545-6328.
  • St. Joseph Mercy Woodland Health Center, please call 810-844-7704.

If we are not available to take your call, please leave a message with your name, phone number and best time of day that you can be reached, and we will gladly call you back. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns prior to your operation.

Registration information, including medical insurance information, will be obtained by telephone before your visit. If a Patient Financial Services representative is unable to reach you by phone, please call 877-791-2051 prior to your operation. A hospital representative will contact your insurance company before your admission to verify benefits and identify any costs you may have to pay. If you have any questions about your hospital bill, please call Patient Financial Services at 734-712-3700 or 800-537-2842 (in Michigan only). The TDD number for hearing impaired is 734-827-9336.
