Information Desks - Greet visitors, provide directions, information and escort patients by wheelchair.
Outpatient Surgery - Provide assistance to patients in recovery, prepare cubicles, discharge patients and assist with clerical tasks.
Emergency Services - Assist staff with non-medical duties such as patient transport or visiting with patients and family members.
Patient Care Units - Assist staff with non-medical duties such as answering call lights, meal trays, stocking supplies and visiting with patients. Volunteers in these units must be age 16 or older.
Radiology - Assist with filing, pulling, or mailing our films.
Sewing - Make walker bags.
Gift Shop - Assist customers and help with stocking merchandise.
Office Assistants - Assist with filing, copying, collating and data entry in departments throughout the hospital.
Pharmacy - Assist with restocking supplies, filing and running the register.
Nuclear Medicine - Assist staff with patient transport and miscellaneous clerical duties. Visit with patients.
Health Information Services - Organize and file records according to hospital procedure. Pull files and copy as requested by HIS associates.
IV Kits - Work in teams of five or six to assemble IV starter kits for local ambulance services.
Waiting Area and Magazines - Organize and update monthly subscriptions in multiple waiting areas. Straighten up waiting areas as needed.
Outdoor Maintenance - pull weeds, keep public areas neat and plant flowers or bulbs in the appropriate seasons.
Auxiliary - Assist with fundraising events sponsored by the St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital Auxiliary. Serve on committees to plan established and new events.
Special Projects - Assist staff with special projects (on an on-call basis) such as bulk mailings and community events.
