Beautification - Assist with fundraising events at the hospital and/or serve
on a committee to select student artwork for a permanent collection.
Information Desk - Greet visitors, provide directions, information and escort patients by wheelchair.
Waiting Room - Greet family members, maintain family location log and serve as a link between families and staff.
Outpatient Surgery - Provide assistance to patients in recovery, prepare cubicles, discharge patients and assist with clerical tasks.
Inpatient Surgery - Provide assistance to patients in recovery, assist staff with clerical tasks and provide assistance to families in waiting room.
Emergency Services - Assist staff with non-medical duties such as patient and specimen transportation, give directions or visit with patients and family members.
Pastoral Care - Visit patients and provide communion to Catholic patients.
Clinics - Assist staff with supportive duties such as stocking supplies, preparing packets and appointment reminder calls.
Therapaws - Dogs and owners visit patient care units to provide diversion and therapy. (Dogs need to be screened and registered by Therapaws of Michigan, Inc.)
CPD - Assist with assembly of surgical packs and/or computer data entry.
Gift Shop - Assist customers and run the register.
Magazine Cart - Restock magazines in waiting rooms.
Office Assistants - Assist with filing, copying, collating and data entry in departments throughout the hospital.
Pharmacy - Assist with restocking supplies, answering phones, filing and running the register.
Special Projects - Assist staff with special projects on an on-call basis with things like bulk mailings, packet assembly or special events.
Sewing - Make pillowcases, turbans, baby quilts, angel gowns or walker bags for patients.
Knitting/Crochet - Make baby hats, lap robes and baby blankets for our patients.
