Hematology/Oncology
Hematology/Oncology Services of the Saint Joseph Mercy Cancer Center provides
diagnoses and evidence-based recommended treatments of blood disorders. These
services are available for patients in a warm, welcoming, home-like setting
where they are treated like a member of our family.
Services
- Chemotherapy and various support medications such as
procrit or aranesp, neupogen or neulasta, and others
- Blood and platelet transfusion
- Gamma globulin infusions
- Iron infusions
- Antibiotic therapy
- Therapeutic phlebotomies
- Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, paracentesis and thoracetesis
Staff
- Registered nurses with chemotherapy certification
through SJMHS and many with national certification through the Oncology
Nursing Society
- Dedicated full-time pharmacist and two pharmacy
technicians
- Social Worker
- Patient care technicians
- Clerical Support
- Pastoral Care support when needed
