Family Medicine
In May 2007, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
granted St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital (SJMLH)
accreditation for eight resident positions. The Family Medicine Residency Program
provides educational opportunities at SJMLH, one of three hospitals of Saint
Joseph Mercy Health System based in Ann Arbor. Livingston Hospital is a progressive,
136-bed community hospital with an active emergency department, an adult medicine
inpatient service and critical care unit, a busy obstetrics program and general
and orthopedic surgery services.
The Family Medicine Residency Program is based at St.
Joseph Mercy Woodland Health Center, a 96,000 square foot outpatient facility
with outpatient surgery, urgent care, state-of-the art Cancer Center, lab, radiology
services, physical therapy and rehabilitation, non-invasive vascular testing,
as well as primary care and specialty physicians.

between Lansing & Detroit, Livingston County is a suburban/rural community
that offers access to professional & collegiate sporting events, and performing
artists and theatre groups. The county boasts of 20,000 acres of parks, more
