Susan Pettis

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Pettis as administrator of Huron Woods, a 73-bed HFA licensed dementia assisted living community on the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ann Arbor campus.

Pettis is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a specialization in gerontology. She is a licensed nursing home administrator, certified in assisted living and a certified trainer in the Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care(TM). She is a member of the American Society on Aging, American College of Health Care Administrators and Governor Appointee to the Michigan Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Pettis serves on the Edna Gates and James and Lillian Portman Dementia Care Conference planning committees and is a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association Great Lakes Chapter.

Prior to joining SJMHS, Pettis worked for Chelsea Retirement Community and Evangelical Homes of Michigan. Most recently, Pettis directed the creation of the Evangelical Homes of Michigan Memory Support Center in Saline.
