DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

St. Joseph Mercy Hospital is a 529-bed teaching hospital located on a 341-acre campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sponsored by Catholic Health Ministries, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital has been named as a Top 100 Hospital and is at the forefront of many clinical specialty areas.

This is fast-paced environment, providing dialysis care for both inpatient and outpatient areas. As a Hemodialysis RN you will be providing hemodialysis, plasma Fresus, CRT, and Preiniel dialysis care. The Dialysis area is open Monday-Saturday, and all staff are required to be responsible for Saturday On-call hours.

SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System provide quality patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. They serve as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit and will assume accountability for nursing care of designated patients.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care, one that involves both patient and family and is regularly evaluated and revised. Must be able to provide evidence of efficient organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to organize and prioritize their individual workload around patient and unit needs.

Registered Nurses will have to opportunity to identify, develop and implement a teaching plan based on the educational needs of the patient and their family, engaging the necessary resources to assure readiness for discharge.

Additionally, we are seeking professional Registered Nurses who identify their own opportunities for professional growth, has participated in QI and evidence-based practice activities, integrating changes into practice, and is able to identify concerns and initiate appropriate follow up.
