Feelings of
fatigue usually have an obvious cause, such as a cold,
lack of sleep, overwork, or
stress. This type of fatigue usually clears up on its
own. Home treatment may help decrease your fatigue.
Fatigue is more of a concern when you are not able to complete daily
activities such as bathing, eating, or going to work or school. This may be a
symptom of a mental health problem, such as
depression or
anxiety. Fatigue that has not improved after 2 weeks
of home treatment (persistent fatigue) requires a visit to a health
professional.
